  1. What is she saying about the death peatlny? That no matter what it cannot and never will be justified. It’s giving the public the ‘ok’ to kill, which is the sad truth. Also, when the public thinks about capital punishment, they simply think of a man/woman who committed a terrible crime getting what they ‘deserve’ but they do not know what actually occurs, Sister Prejean implies that if everyone could see everything that goes on, they too would oppose the death peatlny. Why is she against it? She believes that there are some rights each human is born with that no body has the power to take away, regardless of the crime they committed the government does not how the ‘right’ to take away someones life. What do you think of her arguments and point of view? After reading all of Sister Helen’s opinions, I agree with her completely. I feel very strongly that terrible people who commit horendous murders deserve to suffer, but the government simply does not have the power/or the right to take away a life. Sister Helen does not just follow the trend and truly believes what she feels strongly about .. What kind of person do you think does this kind of work? Someone who truly wants to see the good in all people instead of the initial reaction of hatred and anger. There is always two sides to a story and Sister Helen, with the good in her heart, wants to hear both sides.
